This week, Congressman Raja joined CNN host Fredricka Whitfield to discuss the heinous attack on Paul Pelosi and what it means for the broader issue of political violence. "Everybody is praying for Paul Pelosi's speedy recovery at this point, as well as for the Speaker and her family... This is a form of political violence... what the assailant shouted upon entrance to the Pelosi household was 'Where's Nancy? Where's Nancy?' — and that echoed exactly the chants of the January 6th insurrectionists."

On Friday, Congressman Raja joined John Williams on WGN Radio to talk about an array of issues. On the topic of mail-in ballots, Congressman Raja told John, "Certainly ballots that arrive as part of our rules after Election Day should be counted. Any statements to the contrary just try to discredit the election and try to feed this notion that our elections are not free and fair." When later asked to reflect on his biggest accomplishments in office, The Congressman said, "I've tried to work with my mayors to invest in their municipalities and in law enforcement...I've ushered hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Schaumburg Police Department to invest in their mobile mental health unit and hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Hoffman Estates Police Department to deal with the scourge of domestic violence. I've worked with Republicans on the other side to try to ban insider trading in Congress...to tackle the youth vaping crisis...and to oppose the Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern railroad merger."

On Wednesday, the Congressman appeared at a press conference to speak out against the planned merger of the Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern Railroads which would add as many 14 freight trains per day to Metra's Milwaukee District West Line. The drastic increase in traffic would negatively impact the local economy and surrounding communities — especially in cases of emergency. "Just one of those freight trains could be as long as two miles and simultaneously block every single intersection or crossing in Itasca at one time."

Recently, Congressman Raja called for the city of Chicago to start supplying filters to residents whose tap water proves to have more brain-damaging lead than is allowed for bottled water. A recent investigation revealed that a third of home tests in Chicago uncovered lead levels in drinking water that exceeded the federal government's limits for bottled water. "It's deeply distressing to read that more than one in 20 tap water tests performed in Chicago were at or above US government limits and one third had more lead than is permitted in bottled water," the Congressman told The Guardian. "What's happened so far is not acceptable."
